<p>昔、同じ会社にいた先輩（女性）が、「いやなことがあっても動物園のカバを見るとなんとなくホッとするの」と言っていた。</p> <p>休みの日にはひとりで上野にカバを見に行くこともあるとも言っていた。</p> <p>大好きな先輩だったので、それ以来、私もカバが気になり始め、いつの間にか好きになっていた。</p> <p>しかし、相性が悪いのか、日頃の行いが悪いのか、上野動物園のカバにはいまだにちゃんと会ったことがない。</p> <p>見ることができるのは、せいぜい水の中に潜った背中くらい。</p> <p>もっとついていない日になると、水が濁っていて背中さえ見ることができなかった。</p> <p>この日のカバも、水の中の背中を見ることができただけ。</p>
